She was born May 9, 1940 to the parentage of the late Leo and Hettie Lou Foxx Washington. She was a native of Alma. She was member of Gainestown AOH Church of God. She was a former housekeeper at Jackson Motel.
Survivors include four sons, Charles L. (Jackie) Washington, Arthur Washington, Edward (Sylvia) Hunt, Jarvis (Victoria) Hunt; one devoted daughter, Shaletha (Derrick Hunt) Williams, all of Gainestown; three brothers, Leo (Ethel) Washington Jr., Eligha (Thelma) Washington, David (Lisa) Washington, all of Gainestown; four sisters, Callie (Clarence) Robinson, Willrean Jackson, Ida Mae (Bennie S.) Jackson, and Rosie (Tecolian) Foxx, all of Gainestown; seven sistersin law, Jessie Kemp, Eula (Spencer) Rivers, Bessie M. Rivers, Minnie L. Hunt, Francis Hunt, Daisy Hunt, Bernice Hunt (devoted), all of Gainestown; two devoted nieces, Ika “Granny” Jackson and Nellie Robinson; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three devoted friends, Julius “Humbug” McLain, Maybell Smith and Eunice Bettis, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6 at 1 p.m. at Gainestown AOH Church. Viewing will be Friday from 1-6 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home. Viewing will also be Saturday at 12 noon until the funeral hour of 1 p.m. Overseer Heary Rodgers, pastor and officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Following the burial, the family will receive friends at Mrs. Hunt’s home, 221 Apollo Road, Gainestown.
