Joseph T. Kopper
Joseph T. Kopper, 66, of Tibbie died March 2, 2010 at Mobile Infirmary.
He was a native of New York State. He was a Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart. He spent most of his life working for the Veterans Administration as an addictions therapist in Ashville, N.C. After retiring from the VA, he moved to Tibbie along with his wife and mother.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Mary Agnes Knapp Kopper, Tibbie; his mother, Evelyn Kopper, Chatom; two sons, Joey Kopper, Wilmington, N.C., Tony (Sherry) Kopper, Canton, N.C.; four daughters, Teresa (Tommy) Raghbone, Gafney, N.C., Bridgett (Robbie) Tarleton, Jackson, Patrina (Jack) Johnston, Tibbie, Nedrin Dearing, Chickasaw; two brothers, Gilbert (Becky) Kopper, Tennessee, Tommy Kopper, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one sister, Helen Herrin; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
The service was March 5 at 12 noon at Bethel Methodist Church in Seaboard with Revs. Bill Messer and Robert Fischer officiating. Burial was a full military graveside service at the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery. St. Stephens Funeral Home directed.
