Beatrice Davis Coats, 56, of Grove Hill died March 27, 2010 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 6, 1953, to the parents of the late Richard Davis and Jessie Lee Davis of Whatley.  At an early age in life, she confessed Jesus Christ as Lord and entered into fellowship as a member of Mackey Branch #2 Baptist Church of Whatley where she served on the usher's board for many years. In 1972, she became a graduate of Clarke County High School located in Grove Hill. As an employee of B & F Farm Supply she served as store clerk for 21 years. In her time of employment with B & F Farm Supply she met Woodie Coats, and on January 24, 1980 they entered holy matrimony where they became a devoted couple and the best of friends. In 1994 she became an employee of Clarke County Board of Education and served as a Child Nutritional Specialist. After diligence and dedication in the position she held, Beatrice advanced to management and retired in 2004, due to health conditions. 
She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted husband of 30 years, Woodie Coats, Grove Hill, three devoted sons: Michael (Pamela) Davis, Kendrick (Talana) Davis and Shelton Coats all of Manassas, VA: a loving and devoted mother, Jessie Lee Davis: three brothers, George Davis, Tunnel Springs, Curtis (Barbara) Davis, St. Stephens, Maurice (Lisa) Davis, Whatley, seven sisters, Evelyn (Rev. Clayton) Davis,  Whatley, Mattie Lou Davis, Whatley, Gwendolyn (Lloyd) Knight, Wainwright, Dianne Abram, Alberta, Vivian (Joseph) Cowan, Comelethia Davis, Katina Davis all of Whatley, two grandchildren, Tysheera Davis, Aleshia Davis of Manassas, VA; 10 aunts, nine uncles, three sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A devoted friend, Taneshia Jones and special friends, Bertha Davis, Joe Alice Robinson and Mertis Dreading.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Davis and her grandparents. Beatrice was one of 11 siblings.
A viewing will be held Saturday, April 3 at 11 a.m. until the 12 p.m. service at Mackey Branch #2 Baptist Church in Gosport with Rev. Dave Adams to officiate. Burial will be in the Mackey Branch #1 Baptist Church Cemetery in Gosport. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct
