Robert Lynford Howell, 80, of Jackson died April 1, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 9, 1929. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He served as Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, retiring from the service in 1969. He was a retired technical service representative with Boise Cascade.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynda H. (Pete) Presnall, Whatley, Renee H. (Phillip) Presley, Jackson; three brothers, Raymond P. Howell, Mobile, James G. Howell, Jackson, Jack L. Howell, Birmingham; three sisters, Ann Tarleton, Joyce Homan, both of Tuscaloosa, Sandra Banks, Mobile; two grandchildren, Rebecca Rodriguez, Jackson, Amanda Jordan, Atlanta, GA; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Rodriguez, Jackson, Dylan and Daniel Jordan, Atlanta, GA; and a special friend and caregiver, Frances Davis.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn S. Howell, parents, Tommy and Ethel Howell and a brother, Tommy Howell Jr.
The family will receive friends at his residence at 426 West Clinton Street in Jackson Saturday, April 3 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. A graveside service will be at 4 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jim DuFriend officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Oscar Rodriguez, Dale Jordan, Matthew Rodriguez, James Robert Howell, Stan Wilson and Tyler Clark.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Brown and Chuck Webber.
