William F. "Bill" Mayton, 79, of Beaver Creek died April 16, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 2, 1931 in Beaver Creek. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a retired millwright.
Survivors include his wife, Ranelle H. Mayton, Beaver Creek; two sons, Mike (Sherrill) Mayton, Scott (Michele) Mayton, all of Thomasville; one brother, James Walter Mayton, Sweet Water; three grandchildren.
The service was April 19 at 11 a.m. at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Thomas Anderson, Tony Earl Cannon and Sidney Hill officiating. Burial was in the Beaver Creek Cemetery. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.
Active pallbearers were Hunter Mayton, Chip Etheridge, Wayne Luker, Joe Etheridge, Kenny Bedsole, Marcus Mayton and Charlie Etheridge.
