Mary E. Caldwell, 81, died April 25, 2010 in Amityville, NY in the care and presence of her daughters and other loved ones.
She was born June 23, 1929 to Dellie Dickinson and Stephen Graggs who both preceded her in death. She grew up and attended school in her town of birth. There she also raised her three children who, next to God, meant the world to her. She later migrated to Amityville, NY where she gained employment and made provisions for her children to join her. She moved back to Alabama to care for her ailing parents where she held residence to date. She received Christ at an early age, and at the time of her demise was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church of Whatley where she served faithfully in the capacity of usher until her health failed.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Sandy) King, Ruby (George) Thomas, both of Amityville, NY; one brother, Samuel (Louella) Graggs, Sacramento, CA; one sister, Lucille Wright, Grove Hill; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
