Lloyd H. Palmer, 74, of Jackson died April 1, 2010 at Jackson Medical Center.
He was born April 15, 1935. He was a member of McCanns United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee. He was a member of Santa Fe Lodge #226 F&AM in Jackson in August of 2005 and was a past member of Tentalpha Lodge #804 in Saraland. He was Past Master of the Robertsdale Lodge #821. He was also a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites, 32nd degree on March 26, 1977. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 stationed in Japan. He was a retired scale operator with Scott Paper Company.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Payne Palmer, Jackson; one son, Mark F. Palmer, Dyess Air Force Base, Abilene, TX; one sister, Mae Anderson, Van Buren, AR; one grandchild; several nephews and nieces.
The service was April 3 at 11 a.m. at McCanns United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Peniel Cemetery in Jackson. O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.
Active pallbearers were Kenny Finch, Johnnie Moseley, Dean Moseley, Chris Harrell, Kelly Harrell and Jonathan Palmer.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Larrimore, Walter Palmer, Charles Reeves, Gordon Clolinger, Jim Glover, John Moseley, Harry Grimes and Kenny Pritchett.
