Charlotte Maxine Carr, 56, of Coffeeville died May 7, 2010 at Mobile Infirmary.
She was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville. She was a dedicated and accomplished teacher, she retired from the Choctaw County Education System in 2001 and continued teaching in Meridian, MS. She was also a member of the National Education Association (NEA), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She enjoyed listening to music, spending time with family and friends and helping anyone in need.
Survivors include one daughter, Shanqua Carr, Montgomery; her mother, Rosa Mae Howze, Coffeeville; four brothers, Cleveland (Jenny) Howze, Montgomery, Ronnie (Pattie) Howze, Huntsville, Donald (Rosie Mae) Howze, Winn, Gerald (Euladia) Howze, Jackson; four sisters, Dot (Thomas) Jackson, Thomasville, Faye (Roe) Powder, Springs, GA, Rita (Ron) Eady, Lynn Howze, both of Huntsville; three aunts, Viola Jordan, Montgomery, Mary L. Cox, Atlanta, GA, Mattie Howze, Lower Peach Tree; several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cleveland Howze Sr.
The service will be Saturday, May 15 at 2:30 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in Coffeeville with a viewing one hour prior to the funeral hour. Rev. Vayton Chapman is the pastor. Rev. Thomas Jackson will officiate. The family will also be at Union Baptist Church Friday, May 14 from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will follow in the Howze and Williams Cemetery in Coffeeville. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
