Billy Vayton Jones, 80, of Jackson died June 3, 2010 at Jackson Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 20, 1929. He was a native of the Pleasant Grove community. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was retired as the owner and operator of Billy’s Burger House.
Survivors include his wife, Anne May Jones, Jackson; one son, Barry (Melissa) Jones, Clay; one brother, Ivan Jones, Foley; two sisters, Dot Guy Nealey, Jackson, Imogene Coleman, Mobile; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bo) Slone, Emily (Heath) Buckner, Spencer Jones; two great-grandchildren, Isom Slone, Levi Buckner.
Visitation will be Monday, June 7 from 1 p.m. until the 3 p.m. service the First Baptist Church of Jackson with Dr. Tim Huie to officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jackson, White Smith Memorial Library, or a charity of your choice. An online guest book may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes.com. Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson will direct.
Active pallbearers will be Spencer Jones, Bo Slone, Heath Buckner, Rayford Guy, John Jones, Joel Coleman, Darryl Jones and Don Guy.
