Ersie Clyde McIntyre, 79, of Grove Hill died May 31, 2010 at a local hospital. He was a native of Chilton.

He was born March 12, 1931. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Bassett Creek Baptist Church. He was a retired Engineer II with the state highway department.

Survivors include his wife, Betty McIntyre, Grove Hill; one brother, Vivian B. McIntyre, Grove Hill.

The service was June 2 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Grove Hill with Revs. Benny Harrison and Chris Kynard officiating. Burial was in the Bassett Creek Baptist Church. An online guest book may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes. com.

Active pallbearers were Jackie Davis, Sam Boyette, Tony Baugh, Marvin McIntyre, Robert Fore and Amos Johnson.
