Vernon Leon Denson, 69, of Wedowee, AL died June 16, 2010 at a Wedowee hospital.
He was born Feb. 6, 1941 in Mississippi. He was a Vietnam veteran. He was a railroad conductor.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Denson, Wedowee; five sons, Craig Denson, Selma, Kenneth Denson, Bay Minette, Gaylen Denson, Valley Grande, John Denson, Birmingham, Kevin Denson, Warrior; two daughters, Katherine Cauthen, Birmingham, Emily Denson, Remlap; one step-son, Jacob Gleason, Wedowee; one step-daughter, Megan Thornburg, Birmingham; one sister, Pearlie Mae Smith, Sunny South; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was June 19 at 10 a.m. at the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville with Lamar Mason officiating. O’Byrant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Legion, Post 26, 515 East 18th Street, Anniston, AL 36207.
