Katie Lee Walker Everhart, 85, of Mobile died July 12, 2010 at Knollwood Pointe Assisted Living Facility.
She was born on May 11, 1925 in Carson, AL. She was formerly of Jackson. She was a member of the Forest Avenue Baptist Church. She had worked at the Jacksonian Restaurant and The Wayside Inn Restaurant. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was lovingly known as "Mama" Hart to her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Harold E. (Linda) Everhart, Jackson; two daughters, Kay E. (Charles) Burge, Jackson, Fay E. (Kenny) Johnson, Mobile; three brothers, L.A. Walker Jr., George Walker, Fred Walker, all of Leroy; three sisters, Nonie Williams, Jenny Bonneau, Jackson, Kitty White, Saraland; six grandchildren, Rhonda Roeder, Joshua Johnson, both Mobile, Jennifer Pearce, Saraland, Chris Johnson, Jackson, Lisa Yokley, and Grant Everhart, Bay Minette; seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Archie Walker Sr., Rilla McMullen Walker, her husband, Harold E. Everhart Sr., a granddaughter, Dana Kathryn Everhart, two brothers, Roy Walker, A.M. Walker and a sister, Dorothy Bowers.
Vistation will be Wednesday, July 14 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel with the service Thursday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson. Burial will be in the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson. An online guest book may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes.com.
