Elva Daniels Sanderson, 100, of Thomaston died Aug. 2, 2010 in Colonial Haven Care & Rehabilitation in Greensboro.
She was born Dec. 22, 1909 in Womack Hill. She was a former elementary school teacher in Jefferson County.
Survivors include one son, Chester (Cheryl) Ross Martin, Spring Hill, Tenn.; one daughter, Ann (Terry) Counselman, Thomaston; two brothers, Simeon G. Daniels, Leroy, Frank C. Daniels, Mobile; two sisters, Emma D. Hartpence, Newfield, New Jersey, Net Latter, Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren, Daphne Morgan, Thomaston, Bruce Gwin, Gallion, Phillip Counselman, Spanish Fort, Tonja Keith, Birmingham, David Martin, Fredericksburg, Viginia, Ann Marie Savage, Ill.; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
The service was Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. with Dr. Roy "Danny" Daniels and Rev. Randall Mims officiating. Burial was in the Womack Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Scott Keith, Nathan Gwin, Steward Gwin, Phillip Counselman, Mark Crocker and Reginald Daniels.
