William Floyd Etheridge, 77, of Grove Hill died Aug. 13, 2010 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.
He was born July 7, 1933. He was a native of Marengo County. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Thomasville. He was a member of the Grove Hill Baptist Church. He was a heavy equipment operator with Scott Paper Company.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Etheridge, Grove Hill; two sons, Scott Etheridge, Nashville, Tenn., Bruce Etheridge, Grove Hill; one daughter, Sharon Vittor, Mobile; one nephew, Mickey Langley; one niece, Diane Hancock, one aunt, Voncille Langley; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Mae Etheridge, his parents, Clevy Floyd Etheridge and Crysolene Mae Sheehan Etheridge.
The service was Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. at Grove Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Merck officiating. Burial was in the Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill. An online guest book may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes.com. Lathan Funeral Home Home of Grove Hill directed.
Active pallbearers were Justin Etheridge, Dalton Jackson, DeWayne Nichols, Benjamin Moore, Bobby Moore, Barry Vittor, Jeff Champion and Adam Etheridge.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the V.F.W. 5106.
