Earnest Gamble, 75, of Grove Hill, died Aug. 22, 2010 at the Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the Pine Chapel No. 1 Baptist Church in Grove Hill where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Frances Gamble of Grove Hill; three sons, Richard (Mary) Gamble, Aurora, Ill., Patrick (Charlotte) Gamble, Thomasville, Jamarcus McCoy, Packers Bend; five daughters, Barbara Riley, Earnestine Gamble, Tia White, all of Birmingham, Pam Bettis, Paula Bettis, both of Thomasville; three stepsons, Christopher (Nicole) J. Kidd of Kileen, Texas, Michael (Nikki) Chapman and Michael J. Chapman whom he raised as a son, both of Grove Hill; one stepdaughter, Christal Chapman, Grove Hill; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy (Evie) Gamble, Thomasville; four sisters, Carlove (Frank) Landrum and Carlean Tunstall, both of Thomasville, Daisy Mark, New Jersey, Fannie Goston of Indiana; one sister-in-law, Twillie Gamble, Putnam.
Preceding him in death were parents Mary and Todd Gamble; brother, Wilske Gamble; and sister, Cora Mayhand.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 27, 6-8 p.m., at the Pine Chapel No. 1 Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. at Pine Chapel No. 1 Baptist Church with the Rev. Eligha Scott, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Chapel No. 1 Baptist Church Cemetery.  Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
