J.M. Jordan, 84, of Hattiesburg, Miss. died Sept. 4, 2010.
He was born Dec. 12, 1925. He was a native of Millry. He was a member of the Crosspoint Community Church of Hattiesburg, Miss. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II. He completed four years of college and was the group manager of a Sears and Roebuck Company store.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Hession Jordan, Hattiesburg, Miss.; two sons, Charles Wayne Jordan, Hattiesburg, Miss., Nathan Scott Jordan, Johnson City, Tenn.; one daughter, Jan Jordan Lester, Hattiesburg, Miss.; two brothers, Fred E. Jordan, Barlow, Charles E. Jordan, Fairhope; two sisters, Essie Williams, Janice Jordan, both of Copeland, Ala.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Jordan and Ada Goldman Jordan.
The service was Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Church of God at Copeland. Burial was in the Springbank Cemetery in Chatom with Revs. Junior Morris, Phillip Howard and Dean Register officiating. St. Stephens Funeral Home directed.
