Harry “Pete” Cleveland Parnell, 83, of Chatom died Aug. 26, 2010 at Washington County Hospital.
He was born Aug. 4, 1927. He was a native of Uniform, Ala. He was a mason. He served in World War II in the United States Army. He retired from Olin Chemical and then from Marshall Durbin. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and he loved Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Parnell, Chatom; two sons, Steve (Ann) Williamson, Oneonta, Cliff (Christy) Williamson, Chatom; three daughters, Bridgett (Robbie) Tarleton, Jackson, Patrina ( Jack) Johnston, Tibbie, Deanna (Perry) Taylor, Chatom; one sister, Eva Ard (Albert) Chatom; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Williamson.
The service was Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephens Funeral Home with Revs. Bobby Smith and Ricky Revette officiating. Burial was in the Chatom City Cemetery. St. Stephens Funeral Home directed.
Active pallbearers were the Chatom Masonic Lodge #740.
Honorary pallbearers were Randy O’Neal, Brett Seay, Adam Johnston, Bill Tarleton, Rob Tarleton, Derek McDonald and Harry Ard.
