Leon Curtis "Lil ‘C’" Howell Jr., 28, of St. Stephens died Sept. 7, 2010 at his residence.
He was a native of Jackson. He was a member of Good Stone A.M.E. Church, a member of the Leroy High School Class of 2000 and attended Alabama A&M University in Huntsville where he pursued a career in art.
Lil "C" enjoyed playing basketball and baseball along with his passion for art. Known as Lil "C", he was actually tall with a big mind, great heart and loved his family and home.
Survivors include one son, Payton D. Howell, St. Stephens; mother and father, Cynthia Howell and Leon Howell Sr., both of St. Stephens; one brother, Nicholas "Bray" Howell of St. Stephens; two sisters, Jennifer Besteda (Steve) Turner and LaTonya Howell, both of St. Stephens; three nephews, Justin, Jordan and Malcolm; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
The service was Sept. 11 at Good Stone A.M.E. Zion Church in Leroy with Rev. Juanita Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery in St. Stephens. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
