Melvin Joseph Paul Aucoin, 61, of Grove Hill died Sept. 27, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 19, 1948. He was a native of Morgan City, Louisiana. He was a member of the Magnolia Assembly of God in Grove Hill. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a welder with Apex Offshore in Morgan City.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Aucoin, Grove Hill; two sons, James (Billie Jo) Aucoin, Centerville, Louisiana, Phillip Aucoin, Grove Hill; one daughter, Melanie (Buddy) Deason, Thomasville; three brothers, Terry Aucoin, Mobile, Jody Aucoin, Lafayette, Louisiana, Jude Aucoin, Greensboro, N.C.; his mother, Ethel K. Aucoin, Morgan City, Louisiana; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Junius P. Aucoin; two brothers, Carl Aucoin, Ronald Aucoin; and a sister, Dea Richard.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 29 from noon until the 2 p.m. service at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Grove Hill with Rev. Christopher Giles officiating. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery on the Allen Road in Grove Hill. An online guest book may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes.com.
