Ananias Taite, 68, a native of the Mt. Zion community, died Sept. 8, 2010 at the Camden Nursing Home.
He was affectionately called "Yogi" or "Coolin" by family and close friends. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, an athlete and member of the graduating Class of 1959 at Wilson Hall High School.
Survivors include two sons, Frederick (Maggie) Taite, St. Louis, Mo., Christopher (Mary) Taite of Montgomery; three daughters, Angela Taite Richardson, Montgomery, Traci (Robert) Smith, Dallas, Texas, Dora (Rovriquize) Barren, Mobile, brother, Thomas (Mary Lynn) Taite, Grove Hill; brother-in-law, Sidney Love of Jackson; four sisters, Juanita Taite, Lily (Wilbur) Moultrie, Ella Taite Baldwin, all of Grove Hill, Floretta Taite Dickinson, Dickinson; 11 grandchildren, Robin A. Richardson, Montgomery, Rashad, Rahiym, Nandi, Jaliyl and Khdijah, all of St. Louis, Christina and Maryahna of Montgomery, Elixus, JaRissa and Le'Asia, all of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Voncile Love and Minnie Mae Martin.
The service was Sept. 14 at Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church in Grove Hill with Rev. Cory Pruitt, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
