Josephine Jackson, 81, of Barlow Bend died Oct. 19, 2010 at her residence.
She attended Clarke County schools. She was retired from the Thomasville Health Care Facility. She was a member of the Rocky Mountain Baptist Church and the L.D. Williams Pride Order of Eastern Star No. 730 where she served as chaplain.
Survivors include eight devoted god-children, Freddie (Johndrea) Jackson, Ozark, Claudia Rocker, Myra Taylor, Josephine T. Jackson, Charlene (Victor) Morrissette, all of Barlow Bend, Marliser (Ruben) Ferguson, Kaihi Beach, Hawaii, Eugene (Jamie) Whittaker, Pensacola, Fla., Juanita Clarke, Mobile; three brothers-in-law, Willie (Mattie) Jackson, Lewis Jackson Sr., both of Barlow Bend, Elbert (Rebecca) Jackson Sr., Butler; one sister-in-law, Juanita Dees, Mt. Vernon; a host of devoted nephews, nieces, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends including Anna Smith, Abbie Nash Gadia Washington, Jerry Faye Griffin, Deanna and Ronnie Overstreet, Tommie Karr and Anthony Sharpe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and John Dees and siblings, Lizzie Jackson, Albert George Dees, Charity Bell Jackson, Will Dees, Jack Dees and Celestine Dees.
The service was Oct. 26 at Rocky Mountain Baptist Church in Barlow Bend with Rev. King David Jackson Jr. officiating. Burial followed at the Union Chapel Cemetery in Barlow Bend. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
