Aron Johnson Roberts, 73, died Nov. 13, 2010 at the William F. Green State Veterans Home in Bay Minette.
He was born April 27, 1937 in Cunningham. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a boat captain and a commercial fisherman and also a deck hand for riverboats and crew boats.
Survivors include three sisters, Maudeleen Elizabeth “Dot” Roberts Marshall, Fairhope, Jean Evelyn Roberts Dunegan, Coffeeville, Eva Sereta Roberts Hodge, Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jasper Cecil “J.C.” Roberts, his mother, Eva Pearl Steele Roberts; a twin sister, Marion Roberts who died in infancy, and a sister, Lillie Cornelia “Elsie” Roberts Dungan.
A graveside service was Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at Witch Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Campbell with Rev. Ralph Lee officiating. O’Bryant Funeral Home Chapel of Thomasville directed.
Active pallbearers were Len Roberts, Dayton Roberts, Eugene Dunegan, Harold Agee, Bill Cunningham and Ned Dunagan.
