Jimmy Hayes, 78, of Holly Pond, Ala. died Nov. 17, 2010 at his residence.
He was born March 4, 1932. He was a native of St. Stephens. He was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Mobile. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a truck driver for Priority Transportation in Cullman.
Survivors include his wife, Alice E. Hayes, Holly Pond; five sons, Eugene Hayes, Theodore, Billy Ray Hayes, Mobile, LaVon Hayes, Mitchell Hayes, both of Grand Bay, David Hayes, Holly Pond; three daughters, Glendean Hayes, Grand Bay, Debra Webb, Tanner Williams, Renia King, Crane Hill; three brothers, Lawrence Hayes, Chatom, William Hayes, Paul Hayes, both of Mobile; one sister, Margaret Beech Cook, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
The service was Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. at Clearwater Assembly of God Church in Wagarville with Revs. Jimmy Butts and Ray Williams officiating. Burial was in the Jones Beech Cemetery in Chatom. An online guest book may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes. com. Lathan Funeral Home of Chatom directed.
