Carl Wilson Marshall, 89, of Gainestown died Dec. 6, 2010 at Mobile Infirmary.
He was born Jan. 1, 1921. He was a native of Malcolm. He was a member of the Jones Chapel Congregational Methodist Church. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army. He was a retired fire patrolman with the State of Alabama Forestry Commission.
Survivors include his wife, Nettie Mae Overstreet Marshall, Gainestown; two sons, Jimmy (Cynde) Marshall, Ricky (Shae) Marshall, all of Gainestown; five grandchildren, Ben Marshall, Mandi Squires, Ensley Goodman, Ashley Jordan, and Eric Jordan; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Hicks, Lexi Hicks, Amber Marshall, Jesse Marshall and Austin Marshall.
Visitation was set for Wednesday, Dec. 8 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be Thursday, Dec. 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Jones Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with Revs. Jeff Lohrstorfer, Derrall Marshall and George Guy officiating. Mr. Marshall will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Jones Chapel Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.
