Richard "Dick" Brantley, 79, of Thomasville died Dec. 15, 2010 at Thomasville Nursing Home.
He was born April 21, 1931 in Bay Minette. He was a member of the Thomasville Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from International Paper Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a longtime member of the Thomasville Hunting Club at Hal’s Lake from 1940 until recently.
Survivors include one brother, John Brantley, Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Frances Lou Roberts, Mobile.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Lamar Brantley, his mother, Frances Whitcomb Brantley and a brother, Clyde Whitcomb Brantley.
The service was Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral  Home with Dr. James Best and Revs. Jack Nelson Roberts and Ty Parten officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville. Condolences may be made to www.obryantchapelth.com.
Active pallbearers were Michael Roberts, Jimmie Stephens, Dan Jackson, Billy Jackson, Henry Jackson and Wayne Luker.
Honorary pallbearers were A.L. "Red" Sims, Frank Jackson, and members of the Fishers of Men’s Sunday School Class at Thomasville Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Hand-n-Hand Building Fund at Thomasville Baptist Church or to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
