Robert Jesse Dungan, 89, of Grove Hill died Dec. 17, 2010 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1921 in Campbell. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran. He was a retired logger.
Survivors include one son, Darrell (Donna) Dungan, Thomasville; two daughters, Margaret (Johnny) Roberts, Janet (Larry) Bradford, all of Grove Hill; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Elizabeth Anderson Dungan; one son, Travis Dungan; three brothers, Eddie Dungan, George Dungan, Boyd Dungan; two sisters, Virgie Phillips, Myrtie Hill.
The service was Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. at Bashan Baptist Church with Rev. William Allison officiating. Burial was in the Bashan Baptist Church Cemetery. Condolences may be made to www.obryantchapelfh.com. O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Thomasville directed.
Active pallbearers were David Dungan, Christain Dungan, Michael Nelson, Caleb Watts, Jacob Watts, and Zackery Dungan.
Honorary pallbearers were Larry Bradford, Johnny Roberts, Elaine Champion, Eduell Dungan, Harold Smith and Ellis Godwin.
