Arvin Foscue McLendon, 94, of Jackson, died Dec. 15, 2010 at his home. 
He was born May 26, 1916. He spent his entire life in the McVay Community near Jackson. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church. He was a retired livestock dealer and cattleman.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Helen McLean McLendon; four daughters, Betty Overstreet, Grove Hill, Faye (Bob) McCallister, Jackson, Sandra (Ronnie) Pruitt, Grove Hill, Paula (George) McLendon-Harris, Tuscaloosa; one brother, Earl (Mary) McLendon; one sister, Earline Bradley; five grandchildren, Clay (Tracy) Overstreet, Wendy (Glen) Padgett, Kerry (Chad) Reid, Heidi (Chris) Newton, Kate (Jeff) Jay; seven great-grandchildren, Natalie, Hannah, Olivia, Avery, Matthew, Vivian and George.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Bolen McLendon, Isa Fredonia Jones McLendon and siblings, Anna Bell, Vivian Long, Roy S. "Bo" McLendon, Helen Cochran and Tom McLendon.
The service was Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson with Rev. Paul McLendon officiating. Burial was in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson.
Active pallbearers were Clay Overstreet, Glen Padgett, Chad Reid, Chris Newton, Mark McLendon and Jonathan McLendon.
