James Franklin Odom, 88, died Dec. 11, 2010 at his residence.
He was born June 30, 1922. He was a native of Winn. He was a member of the Good Springs Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired shipping clerk for Vanity Fair Mills.
Survivors include two sons, Charlie (Lora) Odom, Ronald Odom, all of Jackson; one daughter, Judy ("Buddy") Pritchett, Sweet Water; two brothers, Tollie Odom, Liburn, Ga., Don Odom, Gulf Shores; four sisters, Mary Elizabeth Brown, Winnie Davis, Willie Keevan, Margaret Ann Smith, all of Mobile; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Rhea Odom.
The service was Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson with Rev. Skippy James Gates officiating. Burial was in the Winn Community Cemetery. An online guest book may be signed at www.lathanfuneralhomes.c om. Lathan Funeral Home of Grove Hill directed.
Active pallbearers were Brian Newton, Jimmy Pritchett, Willie Motes, Jacob Motes, Andy Odom and Brett Odom.
