He was born April 5, 1937 to the parentage of Roosevelt Marrisette and Roberta Fluker Marrisette. He was a native of Coffeeville. Earlier in life, he was a member of Coffeeville Holiness Church. He was a logger.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Mae Johnson Marrisette, Winn; four sons, Woodie Marrisette Jr., Winn; Felix Marrisette, Birmingham, Gregory Marrisette, Richmond, Virginia, Douglas Marrisette, Tucson, Arizona; seven daughters, Gloria Marrisette, Anaheim, Calif., Betty Marrisette, Houston, Texas, Joyce Freeman, Blacksher, Georgia, Thellesia Reese, Winn; Shelia Hawkins, Montgomery, Cynthia Lewis, Vicksburg, Miss., Tina (Rodney) Roper, Grove Hill, one daughter-in-law, Sharon Marrisette, Mobile; five sisters, Dorothy (Jimmie) Peavy, Nettie (Theodore) Owens, Lizzie Marrisette, all of Mobile, Ruby Marrisette, Jamaica, New York, Rosa V. Thornton, Coffeeville; 23 grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joesette Marrisette, a sister, Beatrice Calhoun and his brother, Louis Joe Marrisette.
The service was Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. at the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Coffeeville with Revs. Albert Ridgeway, pastor, and Vayton Chapman, eulogist. Burial was in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
