Roy Leo Hoven, 94, of San Antonio, Texas died Jan. 8, 2011.
He was born May 25, 1916. He was a native of Jackson. He was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years. He was a Mason. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He was a diehard Auburn fan and loved gardening. He was a self-employed wholesale distributor.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Myrtie Mae Hoven, San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Debbie (David) Morris, San Antonio, Texas; one brother, David Hoven, Mobile; two sisters, Lottie Ann Counselman, Birmingham, Mary Agnes Mills, Jackson; three grandchildren, Jennifer Duplissey, Kristin Morris, both of San Antonio, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Reagan Audrey Duplissey, Reese Adeline Davis, Flynn Riley Davis, all of San Antonio, Texas.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 13 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service. Burial will be in Stave Creek Cemetery in Jackson.
