Carola LaTonya “Rabbit” Brown, 32, a lifelong resident of Sunflower, died Jan. 15, 2011 at a Mobile Infirmary Hospital. Born March 10, 1978 in Chatom, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Johnson and Elnora Brown.
Her father and one son, Devon Bryant and paternal grandparents, Lillian Johnson and Charlie James, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her mother, Elnora (Ray) Hunt of Sunflower; two children, Devin and DeKendra Brown of Sunflower; two sisters, Patricia (Phylon) Hatfield of Valley and LaTonia Bracy of Slocomb; three brothers, Marquise Land of Sunflower, Tamarcus Burden of La- Grange, Ga. and Micheal Bracy of Jackson; maternal grandparents, Aslean and Clint Brown of Sunflower; godparents, Clent (Vicki) Brown Jr. of Rockville and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be Friday, Jan. 21 with the viewing to be from 2 to the funeral hour at 3 p.m. at Mt. Shady AME Zion Church in Sunflower. Officiating will be the Revs. Douglas James, pastor, and Robert Collins, officiating minister. Interment will follow in the family cemetery in Sunflower with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
