Thelma Lee Williams Roberts, 78, died Jan. 14, 2011 at her home in Chatom. A native of Winn, she was the daughter of the late Henry Williams and Pearl Williams Burroughs.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond (Mattie) Williams of Sunflower and Osborne Roberts III of McIntosh; a daughter, Kimberly Williams of Chatom; three brothers, John Burroughs of Manhattan, Kan., Willie (Mary) Burroughs of Kansas City, Kan., and Jimmie Burroughs of Owensboro, Ky.; nine sisters, Barbara J. Jackson of Jackson, Bertha C. Stiggers of Sunflower, Vera ( Joseph) Whigham of Mobile, Lula McKenzie of Owensboro, Dorothy Hobbs of Manhattan, N.Y., Sopora Shula of Winston Salem, N.C., Bonnie (Pete) Leachman of Frankfort, Ky., Lucinda Burroughs of Birmingham and Irene (Raymond)
Boykin of Mobile; devoted brother-in-law, Johnnie R. Jackson; eight grandchildren, Embrel Williams, LaTresha Leggett, Roneka J. Johnson, Raymond Williams Jr., Kendall Williams, Andrew Williams, Sylena McRand and Alexie Marks; six great-grandchildren; one godchild, Roy Parker Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives; and special friends, Ray (Linda) Beech, William and Sarah Duncan, Alice Washington, Christine Robinson and Ms. Voncile.
The funeral will be Friday, Jan. 21, at Alpha and Omega Free Holiness Church of God in Chatom. Viewing will be at 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11 a.m. with Bishop Willie J. Brown, pastor, as officiating minister. Burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery in McIntosh with Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directing.
