Evelyn Bridges Lyles, 70, of Thomasville died March 3, 2011 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 7, 1940 in Rayford, Fla. She was a member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. She was a writer for The Thomasville Times.
Survivors include her husband, John Lyles, Thomasville; one son, Jimmy (Kay) Lyles, Pelham; two daughters, Gerri (James) Robinson, Pike Road, Terri Lyles, Thomasville; three brothers, J.C. Bridges, Lake City, Fla., Charles Bridges, West Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Mildred "Micky" Cobb, Lake City, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Mary) Lyles, Jesse Lyles, William (Lindsay) Lyles, Adam Lyles, Andrew Lyles, Samantha Robinson, Logan Lyles, Braeden Lyles; one granddaughter-in-law, Danuelle Lyles; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Lyles, Riley Lyles.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Kevin Lyles and a daughter, Traci Kay Lyles.
The service was March 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church with Revs. Daryl Brunson and Walter Smith officiating. Burial was in the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were Chuck Kane, Lee Crawford, Charles Kane, Herbert Newton, Woodie Newton and Chuck Newton.
