Charles Lewis Wilson, 78, of Grove Hill died March 7, 2011 in a Mississippi hospital.

He was born April 4, 1932. He was a member of Clarkville Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver with Welch Timber.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Rebecca Wilson, Grove Hill; three sons, Gary L. (DeAnne) Wilson, Jackson, Miles Wilson, Grove Hill (Zimco), Robin E. (Rachel) Wilson, Winn; a brother, Marion R. (Mary Virginia) Wilson, Jackson; six grandchildren, Brittany Wilson, Dothan, Savannah Wilson, Gray Wilson, both of Jackson, Lainye Wilson, Allie Wilson, and Skyler Wilson, all of Grove Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Allie Wilson and two sisters, Nell Massey and Jean Goodman.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 10 at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Grove Hill with Dr. Chesford M. Carr officiating. Burial will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Terry Mathers, Kevin Jordan, Mike Gates, Tommy Powell, Jim Dunagan and Andrew Parnell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hamilton, Frank Cobb, Norman Wilson, Willie Welch, Stan Walker and Bill Jones.
