Mack Neil James, 80, of Jackson died April 17, 2011 at his Jackson residence.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He received a Purple Heart serving in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Inez James, Rockville; three sons, Chris (Mary) James, Birmingham, Carl Darrington, El Paso, Texas, Johnnie Miller, Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Diana White, Bronx, N.Y., Sharon McCloud, Atlanta, Ga., Gabriela Michelle James, Mobile; one brother, Johnnie (Lillian) James. Mobile; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; devoted niece, Shannon Hamlett, Queens, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Snookie and Arleaner Yang James; one brother, Guy James; one sister, Odess Hamilton.
Viewing will be Friday, April 22 from 2 until 6 p.m., at Jackson Memorial Funeral Home. There will be a second viewing on Saturday, April 23, at 12 noon until the funeral hour of 1 p.m., at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Rockville with the Rev. Kevin Jackson, pastor, as officiating minister. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
