Alex Gray Hawk, 94, of Grove Hill died May 8, 2011 at Jackson Health Care Facility.
He was born Aug. 3, 1916. He was a native of Coffeeville. He was a member of New Faith Baptist Church in Coffeeville. He was a retired mechanic with McKee Truck and Tractor.
Survivors include his niece and caregiver, Faye Cotten, Coffeeville; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby J. Hawk and parents, Frank Gray and Jessie Hawk, two sisters, Lonnie Cotton and Jean Hawk.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22 from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. William Allison officiating. Burial will be in the Coffeeville Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Gene Parker, Max Cleiland, Billy Allday, Greg Cotten, Robbie Cotten, Henry Dunagan and Chester Allen Roberts.Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of Jackson Health Care, AserCare and Dr. Keith Scott.
