Sam Fletcher Jr., 83, of Linden died April 19, 2011 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
He was born July 25, 1927 in Reeltown. He was a graduate of Auburn University. He was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church. He was a retired administrator with the Farmers Home Administration U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Middleton Ledbetter, Linden; three sons, Charles (Susan) Ledbetter, Meridian, Miss., Mitch (Gloria) Emmons, Auburn, Pat (Rebecca) Emmons, Ephrata, Wash.; two daughters, Jo Emmons, Auburn; Gail (Jack) Kapphan, Tusaloosa; seven grandchildren, Lewis Cole, Sara Elizabeth Cole, George Barrett, Ross Barrett, Bess Wilder, William Ledbetter, Melissa Ledbetter and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Ledbetter, a daughter, Janet Barrett, and a granddaughter, Laura Ledbetter.
The service was April 21 at 2 p.m. at Linden United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Bass officiating. Burial was in Linden Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers were Lewis Cole, George Barrett, Ross Barrett, Rob Wilder, William Ledbetter and Drew Lancaster.
