Ethel Mae Powell, 74, of Thomasville died May 8, 2011 at her daughter’s home.
She was born Oct. 14, 1936 in Scyrene. She was a member of the Crossroads Community Church. She was a retired waitress.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Powell, Hank Powell, both of Thomasville; two daughters, Carolyn Switzer, Dickinson, Kayla Williams, Thomasville; one brother, Daniel "Sonny" Williams, Pine Hill; one sister, Alice Mae Johnson, Calhoun, Georgia; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
The service was May 9 at 2 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville with Rev. Glenn Akridge officiating. Burial was in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Greg Dement, Tracey Powell, Chad Powell, Jeff Powell, Jay Williams and Hunter Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers were Tanner Akridge, Mason Williams, Tyler Dement, Dalton Powell, Addison Powell, Heath Gates and Ethan Salters.
