Shirley Marie Barrett, 73, of Grove Hill died April 26, 2011 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 12, 1938. She was a member of Tompkins Baptist Church in Grove Hill. She was a volunteer with the Relay for Life in Grove Hill. She was a pattern maker at A.C. Fabrications.
Survivors include one daughter, Molly (Jackie) Collins, Grove Hill; one brother, L.H. “Bud” McCollum, California; one stepbrother, T. E. Barnes, Russellville; two sisters, Betty (Johnny) Goodwin, Chattanooga, Tenn., Voncille Borders, Tacoma, Wash.; one half-brother, Gordon Tindle; four half-sisters, Sue Presley, Virginia Wallace, Betty Watts, Bernice Pugh; five grandchildren, Davette Collins, David Collins, La-Donnica Jowers, Jake Turner and Tyler Sellers; three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Barrett and a daughter, Cheryl Turner.
The service was Friday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Grove Hill with Rev. Johnny Kendrick officiating. Burial was in the Magnolia Lawn Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David Crosby, Kevin Ready, Cindy Wilson, Danny Shaper, John Palmer and Keith Wayne Brown.
