William “Billy” Shields Fowler, 70, of Grove Hill died May 1, 2011 at Jackson Medical Center.
He was born October 10, 1940 in Grove Hill. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Grove Hill. He was a former chief of the Grove Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He was a retired paper mill worker.
Survivors include one son, William Curtis Fowler, Montgomery; two sisters, Mary Nell Brunson, Grove Hill, Patricia Diane Johnson, Mexia, four granddaughters. Emily Ann Fowler, Elizabeth Abigail Fowler, Audrey Ellen Fowler, all of Montgomery, Rebecca Leigh Fowler, Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Buster Fowler, his wife, Betty Ann Morgan Fowler, and his son, John Barry Fowler.
The service was May 4 at 2 p.m. at the Grove Hill Baptist Church with Rev. David Curtis officiating. Burial was in the Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill.
