He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Salitpa and served on the deacon board. He was the owner and operator of Gilmore Used Cars and Parts in Salitpa for more than 60 years.
Survivors include six sons, James (Annie) Gilmore, Marcus (Kanitra) Gilmore, all of Salitpa, Johnny (Sandra) Robinson, Jackson, Jessie (Hazel) Gilmore, George (Mary) Gilmore, all of Coffeeville, and Derrick (Jawanika) Gilmore, Baldon Springs; four daughters, Emmie (Pervis) Calhoun, Grove Hill, Gwen (Al) Jarvis, Montgomery, Rachel (Samuel) Moore, Jackson, Barbara Gilmore, Huntsville; one brother, George R. Gilmore, Salitpa; three sisters, Nonie M. Griffin, Grove Hill, Bessie L. Bracy, Cloradean Kennedy, both of Mobile; sister-in-law, Lela M. Gilmore, Salitpa; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginger V. Gilmore; parents; brothers, Walter Gilmore, A. G. Gilmore and A. B. Gilmore; and two sisters, Mattie Hall and Boydee Calhoun.
The service was April 30, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Hurley James, pastor, as officiating minister. Burial was in the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
