Rubye Nell Davis Robinson, 61, died May 11, 2011 at Jackson Medical Center. She was born in Leroy July 6, 1949.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 41 years, Charles Edward Robinson; three loving children, Rodney (Tonya) Robinson, Sonta Robinson, Sylvia Robinson, all of Leroy; three brothers, James Davis, Hattiesburg, Miss., Charles (Bettye) Davis, Saraland, Ed (Rebecca) Davis, Leroy; four granddaughters, D’Sheena Robinson, Nickisha Robinson, Tierra Robinson, Iyanla Todd; loving and devoted mother, Nellrie Davis; five sisters, Willie C. Davis, Mary Johnson, both of Leroy, Dora Jackson, Martha Jackson, both of Houston, Texas, Edna (Arthur) Crawford, Detroit, Mich.; a brother-in-law, Johnny Robinson; a sister-in-law, Janie Davis, both of Leroy; nine godchildren, Steve Brown Jr., Ledreg Campbell, Stanton Davis, Dominique Parker, Michael Jackson Jr., Siera Sims, Tamia White, Diamond McKay and Heather Jackson; special friends, Edna Whittle, Irene Stokes, Tania Taylor and Jackie Richardson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her father, James Enoch Davis and a godchild, Edn’Drika Henderson. She was a member of the St. Union Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities.
The service will be Saturday, May 21 at 2 p.m., at St. Union Baptist Church, 1524 Pruitt Road in Leroy with Rev. Richard Chaney, pastor, as officiating minister. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in the St. Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
