James Howard Walker, 68, of Grove Hill, died May 13, 2011.
He was a member of the Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Grove Hill. He was the building superintendent for the Clarke County Courthouse for more than 40 years before retiring in 2010.
Survivors include three sons, Victor (Rose) Morrissette, Gosport, Bruce Malone, Thomasville, Martin (Shelia) Walker, Marrietta, Ga.; four daughters, Maggie (Rev. Daniel) Dozier, Brewton, Sandra (James) Osborne, Lenell Walker, both of Grove Hill, Blanche (K.C.) Young, Marrietta, Ga.; one brother, Cossie Walker, Selma; three sisters, Martha Walker, New Jersey, Hellen (Larry) Lewis, Levonia (Lewis) Sharp, both of Selma; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Walker; parents, Maggie and John Walker; and a sister, Ruby M. Walker.
The service will be Saturday, May 21 at Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church with viewing from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at 11 a.m. Rev. James Barron is pastor and Rev. Daniel Dozier will be the officiating minister. Burial will be in the Orange Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
