Dell M. McClellan, 88, of Jackson died May 22, 2011.
She was born Aug. 8, 1922 to Chester and Jessie McCorquodale. She graduated from high school in 1940 and went to work as a teller at Jackson Bank & Trust Co. in July of that year. She also served as Secretary/Treasurer of McCorquodale Brothers Lumber Co., Inc. In 1988 she retired from the bank as vice president. She was active in her church and community where she served in several capacities. She married Val T. Ivey in 1943 and their only child, Emma Jean was born in 1945. Mr. Ivey passed away later that year. In 1973 she married D.W. McClellan and they enjoyed being grandparents with grandchildren in both families. After almost 10 years of marriage Mac passed away in 1983.
Survivors include one daughter, Emma Jean (Jim) Bedsole, Eagle, Idaho; one sister, Jessie Allen Stuart, Marianna, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jay (Amy) Bedsole, Eagle Idaho, Chess (Jenna) Bedsole, Birmingham, Ivey Bedsole, Meridian, Idaho; six great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and William McCorquodale and a sister, Margaret Trice McCorquodale.
Visitation will be Friday, May 27 at 10 a.m. and the service will be at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Jackson at 146 College Avenue with Rev. Jim DuFriend officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Jackson or to your favorite charity.
