John Cooper Anderson, 68, of Whatley died June 26, 2011 at his residence.

He was born April 23, 1943 in Whatley. He was a member of the Amity Baptist Church. He was a retired auto body repairman of Whatley.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Buckalew Anderson, Whatley; two sons, Ronnie (Nita) Bennett, Whatley, Mike (Savina) Anderson, McIntosh; four daughters, Terry ( Tim) Davis, Alabaster, Jennifer (Mike) Fleming, Whatley, Charlotte ( Jeff ) Sellers, Rena Paul, all of Grove Hill; one brother, Melvin (Rosie) Anderson, Saraland; two sisters, Ruby (Ken) Davis, Whatley, Deloris (Bennie) Counselman, Jackson; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Jeston Anderson, his mother, Phoebie Jane Gilbert Anderson; seven brothers, three sisters.

The service was June 28 at 11 a.m. at Amity Baptist Church with Rev. Percy Clarke officiating. Burial was in the Amity Baptist Church Cemetery in Whatley.

Active pallbearers were Hunter Smith, Nicholas Sellers, Richard Bennett, Layton Davis, Kelly Davis and Brett Goodman.

Honorary pallbearers were Mike Fleming, Jeff Sellers, Drew Solorzano, Tim Davis, Caleb Smith, Ronnie Bennett and Mike Anderson.
