Jimmy Franklin Parnell, 61, of Whatley died July 25, 2011 at USA Medical Center in Mobile.
He was born April 9, 1950. He attended Magnolia Assembly of God. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a maintenance worker at Teledyne Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Parnell, Whatley; one son, James Dean (Destiny) Parnell, Whatley; one daughter, Elizabeth (Thomas) Melchionne, Grove Hill; one grandchild, Koen Gauge Parnell.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 28 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Grove Hill. The service will be Friday, July 29 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Grove Hill with Rev. Alvin Kolb officiating. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery on the Piney Woods Road in Grove Hill.
Active pallbearers will be Bradley Neese, Kevin Hill, David Price, Destin Price, David Hinson and James Knight.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Neese and Roger Milstead.
