Lydia “Honey” James, 89, of Prestwick died July 21, 2011.
She was born March 16, 1922 in Castleberry. She was the daughter of the late Lilly B. and Johnson Hardy,
Survivors include her daughter, Celestine James Fikes, Sunflower; two granddaughters, Jennifer F. Black and Lydia Fikes, both of Sunflower; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lizzie Jackson, Sunflower; nine caregivers, Clinton (Eugene) Collins, Willis (Luella) Collins, Cleon (Mattie) Collins, Alfred Collins, Leon Collins, Walter Collins, Rev. Robert Collins and one devoted, Jerry Collins, all of Prestwick; devoted friend, Patrick Jones, Prestwick; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The service was July 29 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Shady A.M.E. Zion Church in Sunflower with Rev. Douglas James, pastor, and Bishop Willie Brown officiating minister. Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery in Sunflower.
