Roy Hare to be buried Monday, Aug. 8
Roy Hare, 85, a native of the New Prospect community and a longtime resident of Grove Hill, died Aug. 6, 2011 at the Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville.
Born Oct. 3, 1925, Mr. Hare was a self-employed timberman and a farmer. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and attended Tompkins Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie (Linda) Hare, Rodger (Joan) Hare, and Randy (Mirenda) Hare, all of Grove Hill; five grandchildren, Jason Hare, Zac Hare, Canaan Hare, Ranse Hare and Roxanna Hare; one great-grandchild, John Reynolds Hare.
Visitation will be Monday, August. 8 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Tompkins Baptist Church in Grove Hill. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons Jason Hare, Zac Hare, Canaan Hare, Ranse Hare and Blake Rager, Ralph Armistead and Phillip Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearers will be the nursing home staff and residents of Thomasville Nursing Home and members of the Harris Creek Hunting Club.
