Joseph "Joe" Nichols Sr., 76, of Mobile died Aug. 19, 2011 at Providence Hospital.
He was born Aug. 5, 1935 in Nicholsville. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a former personnel manager for Vanity Fair.
Survivors include his wife, Gayle Ray Nichols, Mobile; one son, Jay Nichols, Navarre, Fla.; one daughter, Traci Nichols Jernigan, Navarre, Fla.; one step-son, Scott Eldridge, Mobile; one step-daughter, Angie McIlwain, Mobile; one brother, William "Billy" Marion Nichols, Nicholsville; one sister, Nancy Nichols Burge, Thomasville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
A graveside service was Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Rev. Keith Stanford officiating.
Ralph LaFett Bailey, 74, of Thomasville died Aug. 18, 2011 at Jackson Medical Center.
He was born July 31, 1937 in Clarke County. He was a member of the Dickinson Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian "Bobbie" Bailey, Thomasville; one sister, Maxine Haskew, Liberty; nephews, nieces and extended family.
The service was Aug. 20 at 10 a.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. James "Skeeter" Parnell officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were Trenton Allison, Bill Downey, Lonnie Smith, Jamie Agee and Joe Haskew.
