Sadie Louise Jones Martin, 59, died Aug. 30, 2011.
She was born June 24, 1952. She was the seventh child of the late Henry Jones and Elouise Scruggs Jones-Doss in Jackson. She was a member of the A.O.H. Church of God, serving in a variety of capacities including missionary, Senior Choir secretary, a melodious soloist, and the Matrons’ secretary. She was a member of the Harper High School Class of 1970. Her hobbies included fishing and caring for her grandchildren. Kindness, caring and a giving spirit were Mrs. Martin’s reflection in the community.
Survivors are her devoted husband, Johnnie Martin, Jackson; three devoted children, Jimmie Jones (Nataya McKinley), Karen (Dewayne) Fox, Felecia Fox (Michael Johnson), all of Jackson; two step-sons, Johnnie Shunn Martin, Kevin Martin, both of Anniston; eight sisters, Sally Brown, Sheryl Simon, both of Montgomery, Henrietta (Emmitt) Goodwin, Deloris (David) Jackson, Shander McDonald, Loretha (Michael) Jones, all of Jackson, Martha (Jim) Gulley, Leroy, Fannie (Overseer Glenn) Pearson, St. Stephens; two brothers, Overseer Hosie L. Jones, St. Stephens, Robert E. Jones, Jackson; four devoted grandchildren, Tremeke Dixon, Mobile, Tia Fox, Tiara Fox, Tecarin Johnson, all of Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren, Cassandra, Casondra and Pearlie Louise.
The service was Sept. 3 at A.O.H. Church of God in Jackson with Overseer Frank Mitchell, pastor, and Overseer Hosie Jones as eulogist. Burial was in the A.O.H. Church of God Cemetery in Jackson.
